Described as “A smooth vocal treat” by You magazine, “SA’s answer to Buble” Ike Moriz was voted one of the top 5 singers in SA in recent years. Since 2002, the widely acclaimed international SA pop star, singer, producer & actor has created 17 albums ranging from original Jazzy Swing, Lounge, Blues, melodic indie Rock/Pop to Latin/Easy Listening. His original songs reached No.1 in the UK, Holland, South Africa and Germany. Moriz also acted in major international feature films like ‘Alfie’, ‘Shanghai Knights’ and ‘Love Actually’, and appeared in local TV programs like ‘Showbiz Report’, ‘Top Billing’ & ‘Backstage’, as well as UK TV series ‘Eastenders’, ‘Family Affairs’ and ‘The Bill’ et al.
Rock legend David Bowie awarded Ike’s songs repeatedly as ‘top song of the month’ on his website! ‘South Africa’s own indie pop idol’ (Cape Argus) studied music and acting in South Africa, Germany and Holland. The multi-lingual singer spent five years in London, fronting rock bands, performing in musicals returning to his favorite country South Africa in 2005. Ike has performed at all major venues in Cape Town and Johannesburg with his band of top session musicians (e.g. Kirstenbosch, City Hall, V&A Amphitheatre, The Crypt, etc.). Many top SA bands such as Judith Sephuma & The Parlotones, etc. have shared a stage with Ike Moriz.
