Gretel Schulze-le Roux

About

Gretel has always had a love of theatre from a young age. Whether acting or directing she has always been in search of the magic that the stage provides. She majored in Drama, English and Teaching at Stellenbosch University and the University of Sunderland, before teaching in Taiwan, Zambia and Nigeria with her husband and young family. She has been a member of the Playhouse for 4 years; performing in various roles in Calendar Girls, The Diary of Anne Frank, Shrek and Cinderella. She has directed the successful Hansel and Gretel which played to sold out audiences, before teaming up with Gillian Jones to form the Two Tall Ladies - the directing duo who directed “The Hollow” by Agatha Christie. She currently shares her passion for music and performance as a Performing Arts and Afrikaans teacher at Reddam House.
