Jon-Paul Ruschenbaum

Jon-Paul is a Life Science teacher at Hottentots-Holland High School following the completion of a BSc in Human Life Science and PGCE at Stellenbosch University. He is actively involved in HH’s extra-curricular Culture Department where he acts as Director and Musical Director for school productions, in early 2020 he also founded the school choir. Jon-Paul has a particular passion for music and acting and enjoys both singing and performing; he learnt to play the guitar and the piano from the age of 9 and received two years of formal voice training. As a learner he performed in several High School productions such as Fiddler on the Roof, Grease, Cinderella rocks Africa and Who killed Jimmy Valentine. Since joining the Playhouse Theatre in 2017, he has performed in more than 5 productions and has been the Musical Director of more than 6 productions for various societies (HHDS, Carnivals of the Heart and G&S).
