Wesley Deintje


Wesley is new to the Playhouse Theatre, but has worked in theatre for many years as a director, scenographer and an actor. He studied Theatre Making at Rhodes University and worked professionally in the Johannesburg theatre industry before moving into education. In 2012 Wesley was part of the creative team for The Butcher Brothers which won a Naledi Award for Best Cutting-Edge Production. He has worked on numerous award-winning productions at the National Arts Festival and was awarded a Standard Bank Silver Ovation Award for his co-creation and direction of the 2016 production, Machine for Living. He has performed as Potiphar and one of the Brothers in the 2019 HHS production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat and as Harold Mitchel in the 2020 HHS production of A Streetcar Named Desire.
